Why waterproofing comes first

Most shower failures I get called to fix have nothing to do with the tile you can see. The membrane behind it was skipped, rushed, or done wrong — and by the time there’s a stain on the ceiling below, the damage is extensive.

I’m Schluter-certified, and I build every shower as a waterproof system first and a pretty surface second. Proper job, done once.

How it works

Four steps, no mystery meat.

  1. Step 1

    Conversation

You call or text, describe the bathroom and what’s wrong with it. I’ll ask the questions that matter — what’s behind the walls, how the shower drains, what the floor feels like.

  2. Step 2

    Look and scope

I come out, take measurements, and put together a clear, itemized scope. You’ll know exactly what’s included and what it costs before anything starts.

  3. Step 3

    Build

Demo, waterproofing, tile, fixtures — in that order, no skipped steps. I keep the site clean and keep you posted.

  4. Step 4

    Walkthrough

We go through the finished bathroom together. If something isn’t right, it gets fixed.

Ask a local.

The questions people actually ask out loud, answered straight — in about the time it takes to hear them.

How much does a bathroom remodel cost in Colorado Springs?

Every quote is itemized rather than plucked from a price list, because size, materials and surprises behind the walls move the number. As a current guide, the November Holiday Special prices a shower remodel at $2,000 and a tub-surround tile replacement at $1,000.

How long will my bathroom remodel take?

Once materials are on site, a typical bathroom remodel runs one to three weeks of on-site work. A tub-surround replacement is a matter of days; a full rebuild with a hand-built concrete pan takes longer. You get a realistic schedule before work starts.

What is a concrete shower pan — and why does it matter?

It is a shower base built up in place: sloped by hand to the drain, waterproofed, then tiled, instead of a one-size plastic tray. Done properly it never flexes or creaks, fits any floor shape or drain position, and outlasts the bathroom around it.

When can you start my bathroom remodel?

November has room for smaller tile jobs, and larger bathroom remodels are booking into December. Call or text 719-521-8312 to hold a slot — the calendar moves quickly.
